Crown Royal Blackberry Flavored Whisky was officially announced Wednesday after an apparent mysterious, lowkey rollout began in early February. The expression hosts an ABV of 35% and a suggested retail price of $26.99.
When the brand shared the release on its social channels, fans expressed enthusiasm in the comments.
“Love this one!! Please make this one a regular item!!” an individual commented on the brand’s Instagram page.
The flavored whisky is so popular it seems to be flying off the shelves.
“It’s gone in my area. Is it coming back?” another user wrote.
The Crown Royal brand described the whisky as possessing aromas of “sweet blackberry sauce” on the nose, coupled with a “slightly tart blackberry taste.”
“Crown Royal has always led through an innovative approach to whisky, pushing boundaries to deliver exceptional and exciting profiles to consumers,” Diageo Sr. Vice President of North American Whiskeys Jesse Damashek said in a news release. “This new whisky is a testament to our dedication to innovation, as we aim to cater to the evolving preferences of loyal Crown drinkers and spirit connoisseurs alike.”
The Canadian whisky brand is known for its flavored line, which includes Regal Apple, Peach, Salted Caramel and Vanilla in its core lineup.
The initial rollout in February was surprisingly lowkey from the Diageo-owned brand and was initially reported by BNN Breaking.
The outlet reported that preorders of the summery whiskey were “almost sold out.”
Crown Royal recommends using Crown Royal Blackberry in lemonade-based cocktails, although the brand claims it also works well in a mojito.
The new whisky has “taken social media by storm,” according to Crown Royal, and fans of this blackberry-flavored whisky are unleashing their inner mixologist and sharing how they use Crown Royal Blackberry Flavored Whisky in a cocktail.
Many individuals are taking to TikTok to share their recipes with the new whisky.
A user by the name of splashbarxpress shared her recipe in a video that has amassed more than 29,000 views on the platform, featuring the whisky mixed with lemonade and José Cuervo berry punch margarita mix.
It’s clear this latest release has given Crown fans a flavored whisky to enjoy as the weather warms, and the brand’s parent company, Diageo, is paying attention.
“I am thrilled to see the enthusiasm and excitement from consumers as they embrace this delicious addition to our lineup,” Damashek concluded.
