On Wednesday, Cleveland 19 reported that Florence Hackman, an Ohio resident turning 105 on Saturday, intends to celebrate her birthday with the things she loves: whiskey, football and firefighters. Hackman intends to watch the Cincinnati Bengals game at Deerfield Township Fire Department while imbibing Fireball Cinnamon Whisky.
Hackman lives at a senior living facility called Traditions of Deerfield, and the team intends to help plan her birthday celebrations. Whether she intends on wearing the bright red cinnamon-flavored lipstick Fireball released October in honor of Taylor Swift remains to be seen.
The Ohio native was born in Cincinnati on Dec. 16, 1918, and worked at the Union Central Life Insurance Company before she chose to focus on raising a family.
A study at Boston University claims that centenarians with no “clinically demonstrable disease” at 100 are called “escapers.” Individuals who do not demonstrate any disease until 80 years or later are called “delayers.” Those who fought off disease before 80 years of age are considered “survivors.”
Within the last 20 years, the rate of centenarians has almost doubled, according to Boston University.
Yet, still only 0.38% of women reach 105 years of age in the U.S., making Hackman’s birthday a special accomplishment.
Fireball Cinnamon Whisky – the New Special Occasion Beverage?
Increasingly Fireball seems to be consumed as a beverage of choice for special occasions.
In September, Jac Vanek, a social media influencer opted for “Fireball Girls” instead of flower girls at her wedding. On Dec. 5, the cinnamon-flavored whisky brand released cinnamon-flavored caviar along with its special Champagne-inspired magnum-format bottle, called “Dragnum,” just in time for the holidays.
Fireball released Dragnum in August, as the brand hypothesized its fans would choose to drink Fireball over champagne.
“We know that Fireball turns any boring experience into a memorable one and we had a hypothesis that, if given the choice, fans would reach for a magnum of Fireball — a dragnum, if you will — over a magnum of the same old to ignite holiday festivities,” Fireball Global Brand Director Danny Suich said in a news release. “But we also wanted to up the fancy factor a bit to help make the season extra special. Because an epic celebration deserves something spicier than usual.”
