Buffalo Trace announced on Monday it is offering one lucky bourbon lover the opportunity to live the dream and be its “master distiller” for a day in honor of Bourbon Heritage Month. The brand’s “Day In The Life Sweepstakes” opened Monday and runs until Sept. 30, and those who are interested in entering can learn more here.

As part of the opportunity, a guest will get to shadow Buffalo Trace’s Master Distiller Harlan Wheatley and receive a “private hands-on lesson on the heritage, craftsmanship and production methods” used at the distillery.

“If you are a bourbon enthusiast, now is your chance to become an honorary member of the Buffalo Trace Distillery team during this rare opportunity,” Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley said in a news release. “While many of our fans know the history of Buffalo Trace Distillery and legacy of our award-winning whiskeys, they have never gone this far behind-the-scenes. I’m excited to share more about what it takes to make the world’s most award-winning whiskeys with a fan who is equally as passionate about this industry as we are at Buffalo Trace Distillery.”

The winner will additionally receive a one night stay at Buffalo Trace’s Stagg Lodge — an exclusive VIP facility at the distillery’s grounds. The stay will include dinner prepared by Buffalo Trace’s chef and even a guided tasting of the 2023 Buffalo Trace Prohibition Collection, an incredibly rare collection of the distillery’s replicas of bourbons lost to time. The collection dropped in September 2023, and features replicas of rare antique brands like Old Stagg, Three Feathers and more.

Round-trip airfare will be covered by the distillery, which will also provide private transportation to the distillery; a one-night stay in a four-star hotel in Louisville, Kentucky; two $100 gift cards to the gift shop; and a $100 Uber credit.

The winner will be drawn on Oct. 1 and notified by phone and email. The experience must take place before May 1, 2025.
