On Tuesday, Crown Royal shared that the Canadian whisky brand was partnering with the American rapper, Bun B, to kick things off at the 2024 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Crown Royal additionally launched a Crown Royal Saloon and Showroom on Black Heritage Day weekend to celebrate Black and Tejano fashion in Western culture. Maurice Kamara, behind The People Gallery, served as a fashion correspondent and interviewed rodeo attendees on their fashion choices.

The Crown Royal Saloon and Showroom will additionally be open from March 8 to March 10, and those interested in learning about rodeo fashion can visit the saloon and learn about local artists who incorporate rodeo culture into their work.

“Crown Royal has had the pleasure of working with many legends — from sports to music and more,” Crown Royal VP Hadley Schafer said in a news release. “The Houston Rodeo is no different and we’re honored to be able to sponsor this iconic event each March. What better way to kick off Rodeo other than with Houston legend, Bun B? Local partnerships are at the heart of the brand. We’re excited to lend our platform to local artists and tip our hats to the next generation.”

The Canadian whisky brand intends to donate up to $20,000 to Magpies and Peacocks, a nonprofit design brand dedicated to reusing post-consumer clothing during Black Heritage Day weekend and Go Tejano Day weekend.

“Nobody does rodeo better than Houston,” Bun B said in the news release. “I’m excited to partner with Crown Royal and open RODEOHOUSTON with some of my closest friends who inspire some of my creativity. From the music, arts, food and fashion, I am excited to tip my own hat to those who keep Houston and rodeo culture lifestyle alive.”

Earlier this year, Crown Royal introduced a blackberry-flavored whisky that has been stealthily rolling out in stores. Those interested in picking up a bottle can snag one for around $30.
