World Whiskey Society Just Dropped a Bourbon Housed in a Splashy Duck Decanter Designed for Hunters

World Whiskey Society

On Monday, The World Whiskey Society unveiled a bourbon bottled in a ceramic mallard duck decanter as part of a partnership with Ducks Unlimited. Ducks Unlimited shares that it is the largest nonprofit organization that specializes in conserving dwindling wetlands and offering resources to waterfowl hunters.

“We are proud to partner with Ducks Unlimited to introduce a limited-edition whiskey decanter that celebrates the beauty of conservation and craftsmanship,” World Whiskey Society CEO Alex Kogan said in a statement. “We’re excited for our fans and collectors of fine whiskey to add our unique Ducks Unlimited bottle to their collection.”

World Whiskey Society shared that the ceramic duck decanter is “handcrafted and hand-painted.” As for the juice inside, the non-age-stated bourbon was distilled in Indiana and is described by the brand as possessing aromas of “vanilla, citrus, honey and toasted caramel.” World Whiskey Society claims the pour is soft on the palate with a gentle kiss of spice on the finish.

The release is a limited edition collector’s piece, and it costs $159.99 on the brand’s website.

About World Whiskey Society

World Whiskey Society originated in 2020 with a mission to search for rare, “unique” whiskeys from partner distilleries.

The brand is no stranger to unveiling distinctive, almost “Willy Wonka”-esque whiskeys, such as August’s release of an Indiana whiskey finished in ex-awamori casks. Awamori is a liquor distilled from long-grain Indica rice in Okinawa, Japan. The whiskey hosts a price of $169.

Though these daring whiskeys may be bold enough to raise a few eyebrows, they’ve been well-received by critics. World Whiskey Society’s Doc Holliday Straight Kentucky Bourbon Single Barrel was favorably reviewed at Bottle Raiders and received a score of 7 from our in-house spirits critic, Jay West.
