Woodford Reserve announced the 2023 launch of the brand’s annual Holiday bottle on Tuesday. The bespoke label displays a snow-kissed, wintery theme with a raised white texture. The 1-liter bottle — which contains Woodford Reserve’s standard bourbon — has a suggested retail price of $50.

“A Woodford Reserve Holiday bottle is the perfect gift this season, and it will make a beautiful addition to any bar cart,” Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall said in a news release from the brand. “It’s the perfect gift to bring to a holiday party – or a treat to yourself.”

The team at Woodford Reserve appears to have been busy of late. Last Thursday, Woodford Reserve announced the latest release in the brand’s distillery series — Toasted Oak Four Grain.

The whiskey is a blend of Woodford’s bourbon, rye, wheat and malt grains. It was the first whiskey within the series to have Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Emeritus Elizabeth McCall’s name on the label.

The Brown-Forman-owned brand has a history that dates back to 1812. Woodford Reserve’s flagship whiskey is made from a mashbill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. Until recently, the brand was helmed by Master Distiller Chris Morris in conjunction with McCall.

McCall worked her way up from a 9-year tenure in research and development to assistant master distiller in 2018. In February, she was brought on as the third master distiller in the history of the brand.

When the torch was passed to McCall, Morris shared praise for the new master distiller.

“I am proud of – and confident in – Elizabeth’s ability to maintain the award-winning flavor profile of the Woodford Reserve family into the next generation,” Morris said. “Her inquisitive nature bodes well for those who have come to expect innovative flavor concepts from our Master Distiller’s Collection and Distillery Series offerings. The future couldn’t be more promising. for Woodford Reserve.”
