Woodford Reserve announced the release of an Old Fashioned-inspired chocolate bar in collaboration with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés. The chocolate bar costs $9.95.

For the collaboration, Compartés chocolatier Jonathan Graham joined forces with Woodford’s Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall to create the boozy-inspired chocolate bar infused with Woodford’s Double Oaked bourbon. The bar has orange essence, which alludes to the Old Fashioned cocktail.

“Woodford Reserve’s flavors pair perfectly with our chocolate, so partnering again was a very easy decision,” Graham expressed in a news release. “I truly believe there’s no bourbon and chocolate more in sync than the rich, complex notes of Double Oaked Bourbon and the ultra-luxurious flavors of Compartés.”

McCall is a fan of the pairing.

“The marriage of Double Oaked Bourbon, with its sweet flavor profile, and dark chocolate are a perfect pairing,” McCall said. “This is a delightful gift for the holidays.”

In October, Woodford Reserve released its holiday bottle, which featured a label designed with decorative gold bows. The bottle has a suggested retail price of $52.99 for a 1-liter bottle.

The bottle houses Woodford’s flagship bourbon, known for its “sweet aromatics,” according to the bourbon brand.

About Compartés

Compartés originated in Los Angeles in 1950 when Mr. and Mrs. Compartés wanted to create European-inspired chocolates in their home in Brentwood.

The chocolate brand drew a celebrity following, with fans like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and the Kennedys.

Eventually, the family sold their chocolate company to the Grahams, and chocolatier Jonathan Graham wanted to add his own signature to their traditional chocolates.
