‘No Gift Wrapping Required’: Woodford Reserve Rings in The Holiday Season With Annual Festive Bottle

Woodford Reserve on Thursday unveiled its annual limited-release holiday bottle, with gifting season right around the corner. This year’s bottle features a suggested retail price of $52.99 and is decorated with golden bows on the label, making it a fit for any celebration.
The one-liter bottle is available across the U.S. and at the brand’s online shop. Woodford said in a news release that the bourbon brand can ship to Kentucky, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Nebraska and Washington, D.C.
The juice inside is Woodford’s flagship bourbon, which Woodford describes as possessing spice, “sweet aromatics,” and fruity floral qualities.
“Woodford Reserve is a remarkable gift for whiskey lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike,” Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall said in a news release. “With this year’s look, no gift wrapping required.”
This latest release follows Woodford Reserve’s Fall 2024 Master’s Collection release that dropped earlier this month. The unorthodox whiskey was finished in Madeira wine casks and blended with a wheat whiskey.
McCall reminisced about Woodford’s early days and how the brand was implementing red wine casks in the finishing process before it was considered acceptable in the whiskey world.
“In 2007, Woodford Reserve was among the first bourbons to finish in wine casks,” McCall said. “It was quite controversial at the time but is now a common practice by other distillers. This 20th expression marks that historic milestone with a new Madeira wine cask.”
The limited-release Batch Proof clocks in at 45.2% ABV and features a suggested retail price of $169.99 for a 750-milliliter bottle.
Woodford described the release as possessing candied orange aromas, baking spice and brown sugar, coupled with dark fruit, dried cranberries and raisins on the palate.
