On Wednesday, Kentucky whiskey distillery Wild Turkey officially announced the U.S. release of Wild Turkey 101 8 Year Old Bourbon.
The latest permanent addition to the Wild Turkey portfolio, 101 8 Year Old will coexist alongside the non-age-stated 101 product on shelves and will be priced at $45 per 750-milliliter bottle.
Until now, Wild Turkey 101 8 Year Old has been an export-only product, mainly found in Japan.
“Wild Turkey 101 8-Year-Old Bourbon has always been a favorite – not just for my granddad Jimmy, but for bourbon lovers around the globe. After one sip, you’ll see why,” Wild Turkey Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell said in a news release. “This bourbon holds a special place in our distillery’s history, and its return to the US proves the timeless quality of its recipe. As age-stated expressions become more popular across the category in the US, we are looking forward to more bourbon enthusiasts being able to enjoy this masterfully crafted bourbon.”
This follows 2024’s limited-edition release of an 8-year-old, 101-proof product blended by Eddie and Bruce Russell in homage to Master Distiller Jimmy Russell and his 70th anniversary at the distillery.
We spent some time in Kentucky last week and sat down with Bruce Russell to talk about the addition of 101 8 Year Old to Wild Turkey’s permanent portfolio. Keep your eyes peeled for that interview and for our official review of this bourbon.
According to Wild Turkey, this bourbon will start to roll out in April. Click here to learn more.
