TINCUP Mountain Whiskey will release the second expression in the TINCUP Fourteener Series on Oct. 11, the brand told Whiskey Raiders this week.

Each year, the brand releases a limited-edition, 14-year-old whiskey dedicated to Colorado’s “14ers” — mountains at least 14,000 feet tall.

2023’s TINCUP Fourteener honors the 14,271-foot Quandary Peak, one of the state’s most popular 14ers to hike. The series debuted with last year’s initial offering, which was dedicated to Long’s Peak, the tallest mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park at 14,259 feet.

TINCUP Fourteener is cut to 84 proof with water from Eldorado Springs.

Additionally, TINCUP has again partnered with the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative to “carry out a combined responsibility to protect and preserve some of Colorado’s most treasured resources,” the brand said in a news release. TINCUP donates $14,000 to the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative each year, when it releases its Fourteener expression

“CFI is honored to continue partnering with TINCUP for the second Fourteener whiskey release. Over the past two years, TINCUP has generously donated to support CFI’s trail maintenance and restoration efforts,” said Brian Sargeant, development and communications manager, CFI, said in the news release. “TINCUP’s commitment to supporting the state’s tallest peaks has extended beyond financial support by partnering on a volunteer trail stewardship project and using their platform to raise awareness for CFI’s mission. We are proud to see a Colorado company giving back to protect the iconic 14,000-foot peaks.”

Per CFI, an estimated 279,000 “hiking use days” were spent on Colorado 14ers in 2022. Twenty-two thousand of those days were spent on Quandary Peak, making it the state’s second-most-hiked 14er.

With a very reasonable suggested retail price of $70 for a 14-year-old whiskey, TINCUP Fourteener Whiskey Release #2 will be available on shelves nationwide and can be ordered online here starting Oct. 11.
