Sazerac Auctions Thousands of Dollars Worth of Blanton’s Bourbon, Stagg and More to Support Hurricane Recovery Efforts

On Thursday, spirits giant Sazerac announced an auction of some of its most coveted whiskeys to support ongoing relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Milton and Helene.
The auction, open now through Nov. 1st on virtual liquor marketplace BlockBar, will donate 100% of proceeds toward the American Red Cross.
The majority of the collection is made up of bourbon sets, two of which feature a mixed batch of offerings like Blanton’s, Thomas H. Handy and George T. Stagg produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. The other four sets are brand-specific, spotlighting varied selections from W.L. Weller, 1792, A. Smith Bowman and E.H. Taylor, Jr, respectively.
A handful of individual bottles includes Double Eagle Very Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon alongside three The Last Drop expressions: Drew Mayville Signature Blend of Kentucky Straight Whiskeys, Louise McGuane 32-Year-Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey and 15th Anniversary 40-Year-Old Blended Scotch Whisky.
“Our hearts go out to the families and communities affected by these devastating storms,” Jake Wenz, President and CEO of Sazerac, remarked in a news release. “Our goal is to help aid the Hurricanes Milton and Helene recovery efforts in cities and states most impacted by the storms. Every dollar raised will go directly to those in need. We thank the American Red Cross for everything they do.”
Though the bulk of its distilleries are located in Kentucky, Sazerac’s headquarters are situated in Metairie, Lousiana, one of many communities affected by Hurricane Milton earlier this month. The state has been prone to some of the worst hurricanes in recent history — Direct Relief suggests that 8% of U.S. fatalities caused by tropical cyclones occur in Louisiana.
This year’s hurricane season has taken a particular toll on the Carolinas and Florida, to which the bulk of American Red Cross’ relief efforts are currently dedicated.

Find a full breakdown of each of the bourbon sets below. Bidding begins at $100 per set, though we wouldn’t be surprised if that price rises into the thousands (if not tens of thousands) before the auction closes.
