‘This Year’s Gold Standard’: Highly Anticipated Russell’s Reserve 15 Year Bourbon Set to Hit Shelves

On Thursday, Russell’s Reserve announced a 15-year-old limited release that it described as the “spiritual successor” to Russell’s Reserve 13-Year-Old. The non-chill filtered bourbon hosts a suggested retail price of $250.
Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Famer and Master Distiller Eddie Russell spearheaded the project, and he and his team consider the bourbon to be “this year’s gold standard” from the historic Wild Turkey distillery and chose to release it in place of Russell’s Reserve 13 Year Old this year.
“While it wasn’t an easy decision to release something other than Russell’s Reserve 13, the added complexity from extended aging was too exciting to pass up,” Russell said in a statement. “It’s been humbling to watch what started as a passion project — a place to celebrate my family’s shared love of bourbon making — turn into something that’s coveted by collectors the world over. We stay committed to bottling only the best, and only when it’s ready. This year, that’s brought to life in these bottles of Russell’s Reserve 15-Year-Old.”
Russell’s Reserve 15-Year-Old clocks in at 117.2 proof, and the limited release is available at specific retailers throughout the United States and Asia starting July 1.
In September, Russell’s Reserve unveiled Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson F, and the offering marked the second release within the brand’s Single Rickhouse collection. The collection launched in 2022 and showcases a sense of place as the barrels are aged in different locations on the Wild Turkey campus.
Russell claimed the Camp Nelson F release was “one of the best whiskeys we’ve ever made.”
