Remus and the Estate of Babe Ruth Just Dropped a Limited-Edition Bourbon Worth Swinging For

Remus Bourbon on Tuesday announced the return of its Babe Ruth Reserve, a limited-edition release honoring the baseball legend. The expression will be available at select retailers this month with a suggested retail price of $149.99 per 750-milliliter bottle.
The release is limited to 8,399 bottles — one for each of Ruth’s official at-bats. The whiskey, bottled at 111 proof (55.5% ABV), is the result of a continued partnership between Remus Bourbon and the Babe Ruth Family.
“Our 2025 edition is masterfully crafted and is sure to give baseball fans and high-rye bourbon lovers a unique and memorable way to celebrate America’s pastime and its most legendary player,” said Ian Stirsman, master distiller at Ross & Squibb Distillery.
The new bottling is a blend of three high-rye mashbills, selected from barrels filled in 2016 and 2017. The bourbons in the blend contain 44%, 49% and 36% rye. Tasting notes include brown sugar, cinnamon and fig on the nose, followed by nutmeg and toasted marshmallow on the palate, and a finish of oak, leather, and baking spices, according to the brand.
“The estate of Babe Ruth is thrilled to once again collaborate with Ross & Squibb Distillery on the limited edition 2025 Remus Babe Ruth Reserve,” said Tom Stevens, Ruth’s grandson. “Babe Ruth is synonymous with excellence, and Remus upholds this standard with each uniquely presented bottle. We are confident that collectors and baseball fans alike will conclude that Remus hit another home run with this special release. Babe would be proud.”
The bottle design includes art deco styling with a baseball-diamond pattern, a wooden cork shaped like a bat knob, and pinstriped labels that include Ruth’s signature. A QR code on each bottle links to the baseball record for the corresponding at-bat number.
The 2025 release follows last year’s Remus Babe Ruth Reserve bottling, which earned an impressive Raided Score® of 91 based on reviews from five critics. Click here to read our house review.
