On Thursday, Louisville, Kentucky-based distillery Rabbit Hole announced the release of a limited-edition Kentucky straight bourbon finished in rum casks: Seasong.

Rabbit Hole Seasong is the latest whiskey in the brand’s Distillery series, a collection of limited-edition, small-batch, cask-strength whiskeys.

“This series is a canvas for me and our distillers to push the limits of their creativity and expertise,” Rabbit Hole Distillery founder Kaveh Zamanian said in a news release. “Each release in our Distillery Series is truly one-of-a-kind, something you’ve never experienced before. We see this as an opportunity to continue pushing bourbon beyond its traditional boundaries, and further showcase our unique mash bills and hand-fired barrels – all in true small batches. We’re thrilled to finally share Seasong and invite our customers to embark on this sensory journey into uncharted horizons.”

Rabbit Hole describes Seasong as “a tribute to the age-old tradition of seas-bound rum transportation. Seasong is Rabbit Hole’s Heigold bourbon — distilled from a mashbill of 75% corn, 25% malted rye and 5% malted barley — finished in rum casks that were transported by sea.

Only 2,176 bottles of Seasong are available for purchase exclusively at Rabbit Hole Distillery in Louisville, and a limited quantity of bottles will be available online through rabbitholedistillery.com, where bottles can be shipped to Kentucky, Arkansas, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota and Washington, D.C.

Bottled at 108.4 proof, Seasong has a suggested retail price of $50 per 375-milliliter bottle.

Zamanian has been busy as of late. In August, he debuted a new whiskey brand: Mary Dowling. Then, in October, he released Mash and Mallow, a s’mores-flavored whiskey.
