Old Forester announced on Tuesday that the bourbon brand is bringing back its popular Old Forester 1924 expression for the second year in a row. The bourbon is 10 years old and is bottled at 100 proof.

“Old Forester 1924 quickly became a consumer favorite of our beloved Whiskey Row series,” Old Forester Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo said in a news release. “We are glad to see it return to stores, bars and restaurants across America.”

Old Forester 1924 is part of the Brown-Forman-owned brand’s Whiskey Row Series. The 10-year-old bourbon earns its title as an homage to a moment in history.

During Prohibition, over 200 distilleries had to shutter their doors. Old Forester was one of six distilleries that were issued permits from the federal government allowing it to continue operating as a medicinal distillery.

The bourbon is distilled from a mashbill of 79% corn, 11% rye and 10% malted barley — a recipe that deviates from the brand’s traditional recipe of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley.

Old Forester 1924 was brought back in 2024, and the whiskey was a favorite among critics. If you want to read the reviews, they can be viewed here.

The bourbon has a suggested retail price of $119.99. Old Forester’s Whiskey Row Series features five expressions: 1870 Original Batch, 1897 Bottled in Bond, 1910 Old Fine Whisky, 1920 Prohibition Style and 1924 10-Year-Old.

“With a new mashbill and a 10-year age statement, 1924 features a unique taste unlike any other Old Forester expression, but it fits perfectly within our storytelling Whiskey Row series,” Old Forester Master Taster Melissa Rift said. “After such a quick sell-out last year, this re-release gives more whiskey drinkers a chance to taste — and love — this dynamic expression.”
