Old Fitzgerald Debuts Fourth ‘Very Very Special’ Bourbon

Old Fitzgerald VVS

On Monday, Old Fitzgerald unveiled its fourth Very Very Special bourbon in the Bottled-in-Bond Decanter Series. The Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond 11-Year-Old VVS 2025 is now available in limited quantities at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience and via select Kentucky retailers at a suggested retail price of $169.99 per 750-milliliter bottle.

The 100-proof wheated bourbon was aged 11 years and bottled from barrels selected by Heaven Hill Master Distiller Conor O’Driscoll. It’s distilled from a mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley. The company describes the whiskey as having aromas of toasted bread and stewed apples, with honey sweetness and baking spice flavors.

“We always let our whiskey tell us when it’s ready, and our latest VVS release offered just the right amount of complexity and depth of flavor when we tasted it at 11 years old,” O’Driscoll said in a news release. “Not a day more of aging was needed for this Bourbon to fulfill the expectations that discerning Old Fitz fans have for a VVS Bourbon that carries its name.”

The new release follows the VVS 2024 edition, which was named “Best Bourbon in the World” at the World Whiskies Awards earlier this year. Like its predecessors, the VVS 2025 label displays distilling and bottling season information and meets Bottled-in-Bond standards for production and labeling.

This marks Old Fitzgerald’s second major release of 2025, following its first nationwide signature expression, Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond 7-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. While the 7-year-old expression is designed for broader availability, the VVS series remains highly allocated and identified by its maroon label.

Old Fitzgerald traces its history to the late 1800s and is now produced by Heaven Hill Distillery, which acquired the brand in 1999. Heaven Hill, founded in 1935, operates more than 70 warehouses in Kentucky and is one of America’s largest whiskey producers.
