On Wednesday, O.H. Ingram announced the hiring of Rachel Harb as general manager. Harb possesses almost two decades of experience and left her previous position as director of private selection and advocacy at Maker’s Mark to join the company.

“O.H. Ingram is a dynamic brand with a story that is truly unique within our industry,” Harb said in a news release. “It’s one of the top reasons why I wanted to join the team.”

O.H. Ingram is a whiskey brand with floating barrel houses that drift up and down the Mississippi River as the brand ages its whiskeys.

Since the 1850s, Orrin Henry “Hank” Ingram III’s family shipped oak logs up and down the river and developed a curiosity about the way bourbon aged on the river. The brand claims its distinctive floating rickhouses expose the barrels to humidity and a distinctive climate, resulting in a more mature-tasting whiskey.

The motion of the river increases the whiskey’s interaction with the staves and the extreme temperature fluctuations yield a richly extracted spirit. If you want to know what we thought of the brand’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey, you can read a review here.

“The proof is on the palate. I’ve spent my career building brands up, and I’m confident we will be repeating that success here,” Harb said. “In a crowded marketplace, you must be strategic in how you break through the noise in an authentic way that will resonate. I’ve been incredibly impressed with what this team has already achieved, and my job now is to build on that foundation and take us to the next level.”

O.H. Ingram claims that Harb was a member of Leadership Kentucky’s Class of 2022 and was additionally featured in Louisville Business First’s 40 Under 40 in 2013.
