Heavy Metal Band Motörhead Set to Debut Whiskey While Enshrining the Ashes of its Late Frontman in Prominent Hollywood Hangout

Loudersound reported on Wednesday one of the more unique celebrity whiskey launches to date. The heavy metal band Motörhead will be launching a whiskey at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Los Angeles — during an April ceremony enshrining the ashes of the band’s late frontman, Lemmy Kilmister.
The ceremony is set to take place on Friday, April 19 alongside the launch of Motörhead Whiskey. Rainbow Bar and Grill announced on their Instagram the memorial whiskey launch would take place at 9:00 p.m. at the historic Hollywood hangout.
“Please join us as we enshrine Lemmy’s ashes at the Rainbow Bar & Grill. We also invite you to raise a very unique toast to Lemmy and Motörhead with the unveiling of the brand new Motörhead Whiskey,” the post read.
Motörhead’s line of bourbon and whiskeys serve as an homage to the late frontman, and the brand claims they “embody the unapologetically bold spirit,” of Kilmister.
Though the website has yet to provide major details about these spirits, the brand has what appears to be a core whiskey, aptly titled the “Ace of Spades Bourbon” and an additional line of double wooded premium whiskeys.
The Rolling Stone reported that the ashes will remain on display at the Rainbow Bar & Grill off the Sunset Strip for a month, and claims the bar was one of the late singer’s favorite hangouts.
Kilmister’s ashes will be additionally housed in locations in Nottingham, England and other places that were important to the “Ace of Spades” singer.
The artist passed away in 2015 at 70 after he was diagnosed with cancer.
According to Rolling Stone, Motörhead’s drummer, Mikey Dee, said the band would never reunite without Lemmy as their frontman.
