On Friday, Eric LeGrand Spirits announced the release of its first single-barrel bourbon and its first limited-edition release since the brand debuted in March 2023.

Eric LeGrand Single Barrel Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon that was produced at Green River Distillery and, according to the brand, has tasting notes of vanilla, orange peel, soft oak and a “subtle hint” of black cherry.

It’s bottled at 52% ABV, a nod to LeGrand’s college football number — 52 — which he wore for Rutgers until he suffered a career-ending injury that paralyzed him from the neck down while making a tackle during a game in 2010. In July 2023, LeGrand’s bourbon brand struck a deal to be sold at Rutgers games.

“Our goal with this bourbon is to offer a new tasting experience for those who love higher-proof spirits,” LeGrand said. “I’ve always wanted to launch a special bottle for the holiday season and we were able to experiment with a single barrel bourbon that’ll win over bourbon drinkers. With this release, we’re continuing our work with the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, so this is a gift that will give back to a good cause.”

Eric LeGrand Single Barrel Bourbon is available for a limited time at a suggested retail price of $59.99 per 750-milliliter bottle. It will be made available online at ericlegrandwhiskey.com and at select retailers in New Jersey. $5.20 of every case sold is donated to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, which supports those living with and impacted by paralysis by seeking to cure spinal cord injuries.

Eric LeGrand’s initial bourbon release was bottled at 88 proof. Click here to see how the experts have reviewed it.
