On Tuesday, Elijah Craig shared the news that it was celebrating the return of the PGA Championship to Kentucky after nearly a decade away from the state. The bourbon brand is the Official Bourbon of the golf competition, PGA of America, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and official partner of the PGA National Club Championship.
Elijah Craig intends to celebrate the good news for the Bluegrass State in style at the Valhalla Golf Club and will be featured in a signature cocktail at concessions stands throughout the course. From May 16-19, Elijah Craig will make an onsite appearance at the 14th hole of the course, nicknamed “On The Rocks.”
The Heaven Hill-owned brand intends to bring its signature “Elijah Craig Bourbon Speakeasy” to the course, which features an interactive signature wall. According to the brand, those visiting Heaven Hill’s Bourbon Experience in Bardstown can enjoy Elijah Craig golf-themed drinks away from the course.
“The Elijah Craig team is honored to be the Official Bourbon of the PGA Championship at Valhalla,” Heaven Hill Group Product Director Max Stefka said in a news release. “We’re thrilled to mark the occasion with a commemorative edition of Elijah Craig Small Batch and look forward to toasting the best players in the world during this incredible Major Championship just a few miles from where Elijah Craig is distilled and aged here in Kentucky.”
Those not in attendance at the event or able to make a trip to Bardstown might get their hands on a limited-edition bottling of Elijah Craig’s small batch celebrating the PGA Tour’s return to Elijah Craig’s ancestral home.
According to the brand, the neck of the limited-edition bottle features the PGA Championship’s Wanamaker Trophy, a gold coin cork showing the PGA Championship Logo and a label declaring it the “Official Bourbon” of the event.
Heaven Hill shared that the barrels were pulled from its rickhouses P, 1G and A as a nod to PGA of America. The whiskey is allocated and hosts a suggested retail price of $36.99.
“Celebrating the PGA Championship’s return to Louisville, Kentucky would not be complete without an iconic brand like Elijah Craig,” PGA of America’s Director of Corporate Partnerships Meghan Miller, said in the news release. “The PGA of America is proud to partner with Elijah Craig as the Official Bourbon of the PGA Championship.”
