Woodford Reserve fans are going to be seeing double. On Tuesday, the bourbon brand announced the return of its popular expression, Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked. Say that five times fast; we dare you.

Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked was made by finishing Woodford’s Double Oaked for an extra year in an additional, lightly charred new oak barrel with a heavy toast. The whiskey clocks in at 90.4 proof and hosts a suggested retail price of $79.99 for a 375-milliliter bottle.

“We are excited to offer one of our most treasured and exclusive annual bourbon releases again this winter,” Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall said in a news release. “This is the perfect bourbon for both new and experienced drinkers with tasting notes of burnt marshmallows, dried cherry and bittersweet chocolate.”

McCall was hired in February 2023 as Woodford Reserve’s third master distiller. The torch was passed to her when Chris Morris was named master distiller emeritus. Multiple distinctive releases have launched under McCall’s tenure, including Woodford’s Toasted Oak Four Grain, which rolled out in September. Woodford’s Toasted Oak Four Grain was a blend of Woodford Reserve’s bourbon, rye, wheat and malt whiskeys.

The release of Woodford Reserve Toasted Oak Four Grain was followed by the fall edition of Woodford’s Master’s Collection release in October. The expression celebrated Northern California’s wineries and was finished in a mixture of Sonoma County pinot noir barrels, brandy barrels and bourbon barrels used to age wine.

Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked debuted at 9 a.m. EDT Tuesday at the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky.  The whiskey is limited to two bottles per customer.
