Buffalo Trace Joins Forces With Popular Convenience Store Chain Casey’s to Release a Rare Bourbon Exclusively to This State

On Wednesday, CStore Decisions reported that Casey’s, the convenience store and pizza chain, has joined forces with Buffalo Trace for the third year in a row, to select a barrel of bourbon. Customers can find a limited quantity of Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Select Bourbon at 73 stores within Illinois. The 375-milliliter bottles are part of the store’s plan to “innovate its beer, wine and spirits offerings.”

“Casey’s wants to offer our guests products they can’t find anywhere else — like this unique, single barrel bourbon from Buffalo Trace,” Casey’s Director of Packaged Beverages Fareed Siddiqui said, according to CStore Decisions. “The single barrel select bourbon will be a special find in these Illinois stores and we’re excited to see what our guests think of this Buffalo Trace bourbon.”

Casey’s claims it is the third-largest convenience store chain, with over 2,600 convenience stores located throughout the midwestern and southern U.S. The Fortune 500 Company was founded over 50 years ago and is the fifth-largest American pizza chain, per CStore Decisions. This latest release marks the third year of the collaboration between both brands.

Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Mash #1 recipe is used, which is used in Eagle Rare and George T. Stagg bourbons.

In January, Buffalo Trace’s first celebrity collaboration made quite the splash: Traveller Whiskey. The hotly-anticipated offering was a collaboration between Buffalo Trace Distillery and the Grammy Award-winner Chris Stapleton. According to Buffalo Trace, Stapleton spent countless hours tasting barrels with Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley.

The whiskey is priced at $39.99 per 375-milliliter bottle.
