Brother’s Bond Bourbon, the whiskey brand helmed by “The Vampire Diaries” stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, announced the release of a bottled-in-bond bourbon on Tuesday. The whiskey hosts a suggested retail price of $59.99 and clocks in at 100 proof per bottled-in-bond regulations. The expression hosts a suggested retail price of $59.99.

“The Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897 was one of the first consumer protection laws in the United States — it allowed Americans to be assured they were consuming a quality product made to the strictest standards,” Co-Founder Ian Somerhalder expressed in a statement. “Our Bottled-In-Bond expression which has been aged over 7 years follows the same 100+ year tradition to create a superior bourbon that we can’t wait to share with fans across the world.”

Brother’s Bond shared that the bottled-in-bond bourbon is the brand’s inaugural whiskey composed of Brother’s Bond’s high-rye, three-grain bourbon mashbill. The mashbill hosts a ratio of 51% corn, 39% rye and 10% malted rye. The bourbon was aged in deeply charred barrels for seven years.

Per bottled-in-bond regulations, the whiskey was made by one distiller at one distillery in a single distilling season before it was aged in a federally bonded warehouse for four years. The whiskey was aged for a total of seven years.

Ian Somerhalder spent early October making the rounds and tasting spirits enthusiasts on his bourbon. The actor appeared at Top Shelf and tasted those in attendance at the two-day event, which was hosted by the Tasting Alliance. The actor’s Regenerative Rye won Top Shelf’s Innovation Award at the event.

Somerhalder’s co-star and partner, Paul Wesley, expressed his thoughts on the brand’s latest release.

“We are so proud to be able to bring this product to whiskey enthusiasts, expanding our portfolio of expressions,” Co-Founder of Brother’s Bond Bourbon Paul Wesley said in a statement. “Bottled in Bond is the epitome of what we strive for as a brand — unrivaled quality while paying homage to the rich heritage and tradition of American whiskey-making.”
