On Tuesday, Next Century Spirits announced the new release from its Bear Fight line of whiskey, Kentucky Reserve.

The first bourbon to come from Bear Fight, Kentucky Reserve is distilled in Kentucky from a mashbill of 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley, finished in reposado tequila barrels and bottled at 45% ABV.

The release follows Bear Fight’s debut expression, a single malt whiskey that launched in 2022.

“Coming off the success of our initial brand launch with Bear Fight American Single Malt, we wanted to push the boundaries of what a bourbon can be,” Next Century Spirits co-CEO Anthony Moniello said in a news release. “We wanted to craft an innovative bourbon that allowed us to tap into two growing liquor categories and by leveraging ex-reposado barrels to finish our whiskey, we know we will not only stand out on shelves but also index our business into the thriving bourbon and tequila categories.”

Bear Fight Kentucky Reserve has a suggested retail price of $34.99 and is available at select liquor stores in Connecticut, Kentucky, Illinois, Minnesota and New Jersey, plus online.

Bear Fight is owned by Next Century Spirits, which was founded in 2018 and also owns brands including Yelawolf’s Creek Water, Caddy Cocktails, Numbskull Cool Mint & Chocolate Flavored Whiskey, Calamity Gin and Henderson Whiskey.
