Barrell Bourbon Releases Latest New Year Bourbon in Time for the Holidays — Because Pumpkin Spice Was SO Last Month

We have now officially — and mercifully — moved past pumpkin spice season, and Barrell Craft Spirits announced the release of the ultimate holiday-centric whiskey just in time for winter imbibing on Wednesday.
The brand released Barrell Bourbon New Year 2024, a whiskey that hosts a suggested retail price of $90 and can be purchased directly from the brand for $85.
Barrell Bourbon New Year 2024 is a wild blend of 12 bourbons from eight states and has a final mashbill of 72% corn, 22% rye, 5% malted barley and 1% wheat. The components of the blend are an 8-year Kentucky bourbon; 5-, 6- and 9-year Indiana bourbon; 8- and 15-year Tennessee bourbon; 11-year Wyoming bourbon; 5-year New York Bourbon; 5-year Texas bourbon; 5-year Ohio bourbon; and 5- and 6-year-old Maryland Bourbon.
Barrell Bourbon New Year 2024 Tasting Notes, Via the Brand
Barrell Craft Spirits releases its New Year bourbon every autumn, and the team at Barrell Craft selects a blend of bourbons to toast the coming year. BCS calls the series “a tribute to the fresh possibilities and sense of optimism that every new year brings.”
Aroma: Rich and bright, with freshly baked apples, lemon, stewed peaches and cherries. The nose continues with aromas of caramel, chocolate, espresso beans, ganache and lemon vanilla cream.
Palate: Silky with cherry, cinnamon doughnuts, apple cider, vanilla and cardamom. Sweet baked goods lead to caramel apples, honeycomb and baked peaches.
Finish: Lemon cream, cinnamon and apple cider. It opens up with a bit of water to provide a finish of Snickerdoodle, stroopwafel, baked apples, grilled peaches and dark chocolate.
This latest release from Barrell Craft Spirits follows the October release of Barrell Foundation Bourbon.
Foundation Bourbon was the brand’s first bourbon to be bottled below cask strength and hosted a blend of 8-year-old Kentucky bourbon, 5-,6- and 9-year-old Indiana bourbons; 8-year-old Tennessee bourbon- and 5-and 6-year-old Maryland bourbons.
