Angel’s Envy Releases Elusive Cellar Collection Whiskey Series Showcasing 3 Different Fortified Wine Finishes

On Thursday, Angel’s Envy announced the release of three limited-edition bottles of Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon each finished in a different fortified wine cask: oloroso sherry, tawny port and madeira. This marks the first time any whiskey from the Cellar Collection has been made available to the general public.
“The cellar collection provides a tasting experience by comparing and contrasting the fortified wine finishes of these special whiskeys side-by-side,” Angel’s Envy Master Distiller Owen Marten said in a news release. “Limited in nature, our first three Cellar Collections eluded many fans – the Cellar Collection Series is a second chance to savor them for the first time.”
The Cellar Collection launched in 2019 and features experimental finishes. In February 2022, Angel’s Envy released a rye finished in ice cider casks from Vermont.
Cellar Collection Series Volumes 1-3 is composed of one 375-milliliter bottle of each of the three expressions. The collection hosts a suggested retail price of $399.99, and those interested in purchasing the collection can pick it up straight from the Louisville distillery starting 9 a.m. Feb. 1.
Bidding for the lottery kicked off 9 a.m. Jan. 18. The lottery closes at 11:59 p.m. this Friday.

Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks
This whiskey clocks in at 100 proof. According to the brand, it possesses a sweet nose with raisin and hazelnut, coupled with plenty of oak-forward qualities on the palate. It finishes with sweet floral qualities.
Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Tawny Port Casks
This whiskey hosts a nose of dry fruit and oak, plus black pepper, nutty toasty aromas, cinnamon spice and a light, lingering dried fruit dark chocolate finish. Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Tawny Port Casks hosts a slightly higher proof of 111.6.
Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Madeira Casks
With aromas of caramelized banana, brown sugar, dried raisins with cherry, the nose on Angel’s Envy madeira cask finish hosts plenty of dried and baked fruit aromas. On the palate, picture rich smoky leather, grass, chocolate and dried berries, coupled with almonds and hazelnuts on the finish. This whiskey has a pleasant, hot finish. This expression is bottled at 100 proof.
