One of America’s Best New Whiskey Brands Just Dropped a Highly Limited Bourbon Finished in a Vino de Naranja Cask

15 STARS

15 STARS has released a limited-edition bourbon finished in a Vino de Naranja cask.

On Thursday, 15 STARS announced the release of its latest expression, a blended bourbon finished in a single cask that previously contained Vino de Naranja, a sweet orange wine produced in Spain. It’s made by macerating orange peels in white wine.

Prior to the VDN finish, the liquid is a blend of two 8-year-old bourbons. The final product is blended at 102.8 proof, and only 316 bottles are available.

15 STARS, founded by a father-and-son duo, is positioning this release as a Father’s Day bottling, and it’s available Friday through Father’s Day — June 16. With a suggested retail price of $139, 15 STARS Vino de Naranja Finished Bourbon can be purchased exclusively online here.

“Our relationship as a father and son is infused into every bottle of 15 STARS whiskey,” 15 STARS co-founder Ricky Johnson said in a news release. “With this newest expression, we cannot wait for dads, sons, and bourbon fans to sip this citrusy finish all summer long.”

Nose: A delightfully sweet bouquet of fruit compote, honey, vanilla, and floral notes, with seasoned oak emerging from the background as the whiskey rests in the glass.

Taste: An exquisite medley of sun-drenched citrus and golden honey intertwines with a sophisticated undertone of desert spices and tobacco leaf.

Finish: The sip is concluded with a vibrant burst of orange peel which gracefully transitions to lingering old oak.

15 STARS has been one of the quickest risers on the American whiskey scene since its birth in 2022, winning a remarkable number of awards and garnering high praise.
