Angel’s Envy announced on Friday the release of Triple Oak, a whiskey finished in Hungarian Oak from Hungary, Chinkapin Oak from Kentucky and French Oak from France as part of the latest release within the brand’s Signature Series. The last time the bourbon brand unveiled a whiskey within the series was in 2013.

Triple Oak clocks in at 92 proof and will be available for purchase starting Oct. 1. The whiskey hosts a suggested retail price of $74.99.

Previous releases within the brand’s Signature Series explored two other distinctive finishes. Angel’s Envy launched a bourbon finished in port wine barrels in 2011 and followed that release with rye finished in Caribbean rum casks in 2013.

“I’m thrilled we are making a mark on the brand’s Signature Series with Angel’s Envy Triple Oak,” Angel’s Envy Master Distiller Owen Martin said in a news release. “When I joined the team, we aimed to craft something unique to round out our portfolio. With the oak barrel finishing, we carefully selected barrels that complement each other beautifully. The result is a must-have addition for bourbon drinkers, whether they’re new to the category or consider themselves aficionados.”

The brand shared that the team tested out different blends of three distinctive oak-finished bourbons to make Angel’s Envy Triple Oak. The French Oak adds flavors of baking spice and chocolate imbued with the warmth of cinnamon. The Chinkapin Oak adds aromas of vanilla and coffee, and the Hungarian oak adds depth.

The spirits brand known for experimenting with finishes made a radical departure away from its calling card. In June, the brand unveiled an unfinished bottled-in-bond bourbon, which was groundbreaking for Angel’s Envy.

“If you reframe and think of the idea of surprising people with combining ideas and processes and casks, then I think anything can be Angel’s Envy when you’re willing to look at it from that lens,” said Martin about the whiskey.
