Milam and Greene, a Texas whiskey brand, announced on Thursday that it has expanded its distribution partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits following the company’s growth of 300% over the past three years. The expanded partnership means Milam and Greene’s market coverage will nearly double.

“Fans seek our whiskey because we are in line with their yearning for companies that care about their people, the environment, product quality, and taste,” Milam & Greene CEO and Master Blended Heather Greene said in a news release. “We have performed incredibly well with a small sales team with a lot of grit, and without the large budgets of big brands. Our next step is to catapult the growth of Milam & Greene Whiskey with an enhanced partnership with the world’s preeminent distributor of beverage alcohol, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.”

The brand announced this step to spread Milam & Greene’s market reach from seven to 13 markets through Southern Glazer’s.

Southern Glazer’s intends to distribute the whiskeys in Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, South Carolina, Maryland, Washington D.C., Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Arizona, Colorado, Washington and California.

“I’ve worked for both large and small spirits companies,” Milam & Greene Whiskey President of Sales Matt Evans said. “Milam & Greene is uniquely positioned for explosive growth. This brand has everything desirable: an incredible team with flawless execution, a story that resonates, and exceptional whiskey.”

Greene’s story is one of relentless determination, and she was featured in Whiskey Raider’s recent article, “Raising a Glass to 8 Women Who Are Making Major Contributions to the Whiskey World.”

She initially entered the whiskey world through scotch, yet faced plenty of obstacles and was privately told that hiring female brand ambassadors for some of the major brands was a “non-starter.”

Greene pivoted and eventually received a book deal, where she wrote “Whisk(e)y Distilled: A Populist Guide to the Water of Life,” which was shortlisted by The New York Times. Eventually, she founded Milam & Greene.

There are many fans of Milam & Greene, and the spirits expert Fred Minnick appears to be one of them.

“Heather and I were coming up the whiskey ranks around the same time, and she is one of the most dynamic people to enter this world,” Fred Minnick said in a statement. “Sometimes people get very sensitive about my reviews, and they think our friendship guarantees them a positive review. I haven’t had to test that yet, because Milam & Greene has yet to release a bad one.”

The brand started 2024 with a new release of its Wildlife Collection, and the expression that dropped in January honored the Golden Eagle.

It appears with this latest move, the brand is indeed about to experience some rapid growth.

“They are without a doubt among the best blenders in the world,” Minnick expressed.
