Little Book Explores the ‘Path Not Taken’ With First Attempt to Put Rye Whiskey in The Spotlight

On Wednesday Little Book announced the release of the Little Book Chapter 8, “Path Not Taken.” The whiskey is Freddie Noe’s first attempt at blending a whiskey where rye takes center stage and features a blend of multiple rye whiskeys and a bourbon with a high rye mashbill.
The blend “explores the future of American Rye” according to the brand, and features ryes ranging from 4 to 18 years old. The whiskey was bottled at a 59.1% ABV percentage and hosts a suggested retail price of $149.99.
In the news release, Little Book shared that this chapter within the brand’s Little Book Series marks Freddie’s first real shot at blending a whiskey emphasizing the distinctive flavors of rye whiskey and the multifaceted aspects of rye grain.
The brand describes “Path Not Taken” as possessing aromas of butterscotch, toasted rye bread, and freshly picked herbs like dill. The pour is thick with orchard fruit like apricots, interlaced with floral qualities and an oak backbone.
In August, Little Book released its seventh chapter, In Retrospect. The whiskey was a blend of six components from Little Book’s previous chapter and a new liquid, which inspired the name of the title. The whiskey was bottled at 118.1 proof and hosted a suggested retail price of $150.
The Little Book brand showcases Freddie Noe’s love for his family, and each whiskey celebrates the 7th Generation Beam Family Master Distiller’s relationship with his grandfather, the legendary Booker Noe.
