Knob Creek Adds Cask Strength Bourbon, Rye Whiskeys to Single Barrel Program

Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Cask Strength

Knob Creek announced on Tuesday the addition of a new cask strength option to its Single Barrel Select Program, offering retailers a chance to pick uncut and unfiltered barrels of its bourbon and rye whiskey.

Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Cask Strength expressions will be bottled straight from the barrel with no water added. Proof ranges from 110 to 130 for the bourbon and 100 to 120 for the rye, depending on the barrel.

“When my grandfather created Knob Creek, he set out to make a whiskey that stood out—bold, robust, and no shortcuts,” eighth-generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe said in a news release. “With our Single Barrel Select Program, we pay tribute to that legacy by offering fans the chance to experience Knob Creek in its most authentic form — uncut and unfiltered, creating the most unadulterated single barrel selection in Knob Creek’s history.”

Retailers who join the program will be able to visit the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky, to select a barrel in person. The experience includes a tour of warehouse K, whiskey sampling straight from the barrel, guided tastings and a meal at The Kitchen Table. Remote sample kits are available for those who can’t travel.

According to Knob Creek, its cask strength bourbon features notes of vanilla, nuts and oak. The rye version leans into spice with hints of vanilla and oak. Flavor and proof varies based on barrel location and age.

Bottles will be available at participating retailers nationwide for a suggested price of $69.99 for a 750-milliliter bottle.

Knob Creek is produced by Jim Beam under the parent company Suntory Global Spirits. More details on Knob Creek’s Private Barrel Club can be found at beamdistilling.com/private-barrel-club.
