Craft Spirits Magazine reported on Wednesday that Ironton Distillery & Crafthouse, a Colorado craft spirits brand, is switching cities. The brand is leaving its Denver base to create a “state-of-the-art” facility in Louisville, Colorado.
“Since our inception, Ironton has prided itself on creating rich, authentic connections to the state of Colorado from our exclusive use of local grains to our support of local artists, non-profits and community organization,” Ironton Distillery co-founder Kallyn Romero said, according to Crafts Spirits magazine. “We are so thrilled to join the Louisville community and to add another great gathering place for families and residents to foster meaningful connection.”
The 2-acre property is set to include private event rooms and a larger tasting room, and allow the brand to produce and age its whiskey “under one roof.”
Individuals will be able to taste the brand’s whiskeys in style on the distillery’s rooftop deck or outdoor patio. Ironton is additionally building a pub with bites so distillery fans can relax and enjoy a meal while enjoying the brand’s offerings.
Ironton chose to move from Denver because the newer facility would enable the brand to produce its whiskeys in one location, according to Craft Spirits Magazine. The brand also expressed it would consider implementing sustainable practices like heat transfer and solar technology.

Ironton Distillery was named after a mining town in Colorado and claims it captures the “spirit of Colorado” with its whiskeys. The brand features a diverse array of spirits, ranging from Absinthe to Aquavit.
As far as its whiskey program goes, Ironton has an American Straight Malt Whiskey, Colorado Straight Rye Malt Whiskey, Colorado Straight Bourbon Whiskey a higher-proof Warriors Cask Strength Bourbon and a Coffee Cask Single Malt in its lineup.
Craft Spirits Magazine claims the brand is making big plans to expand its distribution during 2024.
“It’s going to be a busy next few years for the Ironton family,” Romero said, per Craft Spirits Magazine. “But we have a tremendous team, an incredible community of supporters and we’re excited to get busy spreading our grain-to-flask approach towards distilling with the rest of the world.”
