Frey Ranch announced on Wednesday that the “farm-to-glass” distillery is launching Farm-to-Glass month, during which the brand will partner with bars, restaurants and retailers throughout the U.S. to showcase “farm-fresh” cocktails.

The brand is additionally launching a bartender’s challenge in partnership with edible Magazines set to take place in the following cities: Reno, Nevada; Sacramento California; Marin & Wine Country, California; Los Angeles, California; Dallas, Texas; San Diego, California; and Phoenix, Arizona.

Participating bartenders will attempt to create a “farm fresh” cocktail with local and seasonal ingredients that includes Frey Ranch’s Four Grain Straight Bourbon. The cocktails will be judged based on cocktail name, presentation, balance, flavor, aroma and the way bartenders implement seasonal and local ingredients.

One winning bartender will be chosen per market, according to the brand, and will win $1,000 and a profile in their local edible Magazine.

“Just as consumers want transparency on their plate, they’re becoming more discerning about what’s in their glass,” Frey Ranch co-founder Ashley Frey said in a news release. “At Frey Ranch, we believe it’s time to translate everything that consumers love about the farm-to-table movement in the food sector to the whiskey industry — and what better way to do that than by tapping the most creative people in the drinks business… bartenders.”

Starting April 1, the brand will be partnering with retail shops to offer Frey Ranch fans outside of the bartending world an opportunity to win a trip to the distillery and farm, which is located in Nevada. Lucky winners will be able to imbibe “farm fresh” cocktails with the Frey Ranch founders, Colby and Ashley Frey.

Customers can enter through a QR code and the competition will run through May 31.

In November, Frey Ranch entered the American Single Malt game with a smoked whiskey. The brand claimed it used Nevada-grown barley and smoked it from a custom-made smoker on the property.
