Cincinnati City Beat reported on Monday about a raffle drawing hosted by the Giving Voice Foundation for the chance to win the 2023 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection — and it’s for a good cause. The collection was gifted to the Giving Voice Foundation by an unnamed donor, and proceeds from raffle tickets will be donated to support the elderly, particularly those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Tickets cost $25 apiece, and five can be purchased for $100 here. The winner will be chosen at 7 p.m. on National Bourbon Day — June 14. The contest stipulates that the collection must be picked up in person in Cincinnati. The Giving Voice Foundation explained its goal was to raise $20,000 to support the elderly community and fund its support programs for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
City Beat reports that the collection has an incredibly hefty projected value.
“True bourbon lovers should strongly consider this as their only and very real chance to win this highly desirable five-bottle collection, which has an estimated value of more than $10,000.”
The 2023 collection features George T. Stagg Bourbon, William Larue Weller Bourbon, Eagle Rare 17-Year-Old Bourbon, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye Whiskey and Sazerac Rye 18-Year-Old Whiskey. 2023 was a particularly influential year for Eagle Rare, as the expression clocked in at 19 years and 3 months, marking it the oldest Eagle Rare to ever be released within the history of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection.
“We continue to look for new ways to support funding for our programming that enables us to keep offering them to Cincinnati’s aging community at no charge,” President of the Giving Voice Foundation Dr. Christian Gausvik said, according to City Beat. “As we diversify our fundraising efforts beyond hosting annual events, we felt this unique and rare raffle would be a great way to engage and encourage our bourbon-loving Tri-State to get involved in our important cause!”
