Buffalo Trace Distillery on Wednesday announced a Halloween experience in Frankfort, Kentucky, called Night at the Distillery, offering guests after-dark tours through the historic bourbon maker’s grounds and a chance to win a private ghost-hunting stay on site.
The experience will run Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1 and will allow visitors to explore the 200-year-old distillery by moonlight through a self-guided walking tour that highlights local legends, folklore and ghost stories.
Tickets cost $35 and include three cocktail tastings, a neat pour, a snack box, a 1-liter bottle of Sazerac Rye 100 Proof and a reusable tote. Tours will feature live storytelling, themed photo stops and drinks tied to the distillery’s history. Tickets are available at buffalotracedistillery.com.
In addition to the tours, Buffalo Trace is offering one winner and a guest a private, overnight ghost-hunting experience on Halloween night. The prize includes a guided investigation with professional paranormal researchers, dinner in Frankfort, a night’s stay at Stony Point — once home to Albert B. Blanton — and a tour and shopping experience. Airfare and ground transportation are included.
“For more than 200 years, Buffalo Trace has been a place where history and legend intertwine,” Buffalo Trace Distillery General Manager Tyler Adams said in a news release. “Night at the Distillery invites guests to step into those stories and experience that connection firsthand.”
According to the distillery, some visitors have claimed to see apparitions resembling former master distiller Albert Blanton. The sightings, described as “friendly,” add to the site’s folklore that dates to its founding in 1775.
The Night at the Distillery giveaway opens October 15 at noon ET and runs through October 22 at 11:59 a.m. ET. Participants must be 21 or older and U.S. residents. Full rules and entry details are available at BuffaloTraceDistilleryHalloween.com.
