Popular American Blender Barrell Craft Spirits Expands Its Whiskeys to an Overseas ‘Crucial Distilled Spirits Market’

Barrell Craft Spirits announced on Monday that the popular American blender is bringing its whiskeys across the pond to the U.K. The brand joined forces with the distributor Axiom Brands to build its business overseas.

“We’re excited to partner with Axiom Brands — an independent company like Barrell Craft Spirits, which is both passionate about and deeply immersed in the UK drinks market,” Barrel Craft Spirits founder Joe Beatrice said in a news release. “We’re thrilled to have pioneered the movement to elevate the art of blending in the United States. The UK is a crucial distilled spirits market as we look to expand our distribution abroad.”

Barrell Craft Spirits was founded in 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky. The company focuses on blending spirits with a diverse array of distillation methods, barrel choices and aging environments.

In June, the brand expanded its domestic production facility and announced that it would be offering other brands the ability to use its facilities and offer contract bottling services.

Besides the U.K., Barrell Craft Spirits is available in 49 U.S. states as well as Australia and Canada.

Barrell’s superb whiskeys have taken the world by storm, and Barrell Craft Spirits 16 Year Gray Label Seagrass even received an exceedingly rare perfect score of 10 at Whiskey Raiders.

In June, The Grocer UK reported that Britain is experiencing a bourbon craze.

Other whiskey brands have made their mark in the United Kingdom. In September, Buffalo Trace opened brick-and-mortar shops in places like London’s Covent Garden district.

“We have a long-standing history in our team with the American Whiskey category,” Axiom Brands co-founder Ian Bayliss said in the news release. “We are thrilled to welcome the most exciting new American whisky brand to come out of the U.S. right now into the Axiom portfolio and begin the journey of establishing Barrell Craft Spirits on all the best back bars and retail shelves across the U.K. for consumers and trade to explore.”
