The World Whiskey Society announced the debut of two American single malts named after the legendary lawman in the Old West, Wyatt Earp. Wyatt Earp Barrel Proof American Single Malt hosts a suggested retail price of $95.50 and Wyatt Earp Small Batch retails for a more modest $59.99 per 750 ml bottle.
“We are thrilled to introduce Wyatt Earp Barrel Proof and Small Batch Single Malt Whiskeys,” CEO of World Whiskey Society Alex Kogan said in a statement. “The Barrel Proof, with its higher proof and intense flavors, offers a bold, full-bodied experience that captures the essence of Wyatt Earp’s daring personality, while the Small Batch offers a more approachable yet equally complex profile, perfect for those who appreciate a lighter touch without sacrificing depth and character. Together these two expressions truly embody the spirit of innovation and quality that World Whiskey Society stands for.”

The World Whiskey Society describes Wyatt Earp Barrel Proof as hosting a mashbill exclusively composed of malted barley. The whiskey ranges in proof from 120 to a hefty 135. The brand describes the pour as medium in terms of body, and possessing dark chocolate-covered citrus aromas on the nose. The balanced and unctuous palate possesses flavors of pepper and mint. The whiskey’s finish is lingering, and the bottle features a silver bullet topper with crossing pistols as an homage to Earp’s gunslinging prowess.
The small batch American Single Malt is the lighter offering, and it also hosts a mashbill of 100% malted barley. The whiskey clocks in at 96 proof and like its sibling possesses a nose with dark chocolate citrus aromas, interlaced with vanilla and bread. The chocolate carries through to the palate, coupled with fig and mentol. The brand shares the bottle boasts a US Marshal’s badge, celebrating Earpe’s contributions to society, with the same silver bullets on the cap.
In June, the World Whiskey Society unveiled a Japanese single malt that was finished in bourbon and ruby port barrels. The whisky was made with 100% malted barley from Australia, and it was distilled in Japan. The legendary Chip Tate participated in crafting the whisky, and Tate is known for his contributions to the American Single Malt category.
