Grey Goose Vodka and tennis star Francis Tiafoe shared the news on August 22 that the brand and athlete are pairing up for a new campaign launch as part of a new partnership that features a variety of content meant to heighten fans’ US Open experience.
The vodka brand, known for being featured as the base spirit within the US Open’s signature Honey Deuce cocktail, shared that Tiafoe is a fashion-forward tennis star. Because of this, style will be a cornerstone of the campaign.
“For me, style has always been another way to bring an upbeat energy to the court and have fun with it,” Tiafoe said in a statement. “Grey Goose is all about bringing that same energy to the US Open, and any fan of the tournament knows how iconic the Honey Deuce is. We all had so much fun making this campaign and I’m excited to celebrate this US Open season with Grey Goose.”
The campaign launched on Tiafoe’s socials, and featured 15-second videos with “head-turning fits, celebratory moves and stylish serves, like the Honey Deuce cocktail.” The brand also shared long-form social assets will be featured and a spot will air in New York City’s Times Square.
Grey Goose announced that it would select one tennis fan and offer them premium seats at the US Open with a guest of their choosing. The vodka brand additionally shared it would allow them to experience the Grey Goose suite.
“Following our most successful tournament to date, Grey Goose is excited to return to the US Open for our 18th year of partnership,” said Grey Goose North America VP of Marketing Aleco Azqueta in a statement. “We are especially excited to kick off Honey Deuce cocktail season with this incredible campaign and partnership with Frances Tiafoe. In addition to his gifted talents, Frances is the embodiment of joyful style and spirit on and off the court. We’re looking forward to raising a Honey Deuce cocktail in his honor this year.”
The US Open is set to run from August 26 through September 8.
