Deep Eddy Vodka Shuts Down 2nd Distillery and Visitors Center After Investing Millions in Expansion

Heaven Hill Brands will close its second Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery and its visitor center this summer, despite having invested millions of dollars into expanding the site over the past decade, according to a report from The Spirits Business.
The Dripping Springs location will cease operations as a Deep Eddy Vodka facility on August 1, 2026. Through a sublease agreement, the site will transition to another vodka producer, though Heaven Hill hasn’t identified the incoming tenant, per The Spirits Business.
The company said the move is part of a broader strategic shift to focus on markets and experiences that better align with the brand’s current direction—particularly in nearby Austin, where Deep Eddy was founded.
“Deep Eddy Vodka is all about good times and bringing people together,” said brand director Julie Cole. “Austin is where this brand got its start, and we’re excited to bring more of that energy back to the city.”
The Dripping Springs facility was originally built in 2014 as a secondary production site. It later expanded into a public-facing destination with a tasting room and visitor experience. In 2019, Heaven Hill invested nearly $1 million into enhancing the space, adding a large bar, performance stage, innovation lab, new bottling line, and seating for up to 200 guests.
Those upgrades followed earlier investments totaling approximately $6 million in the Dripping Springs site, alongside an additional $10 million to increase production capacity at the brand’s primary distillery in Buda.
Production of Deep Eddy Vodka will continue uninterrupted at the Buda facility, which remains the brand’s main distilling operation. The Dripping Springs site was the only location open to the public for tours and tastings.
Heaven Hill said operations in Hays County will not be impacted and emphasized continued investment in local production, staffing, and partnerships.
The company also indicated it has been evaluating ways to shift its experiential footprint closer to Austin, where more of its consumers are spending time. Future plans include expanding brand presence through local events and partnerships.
Visitors can still access the Dripping Springs tasting room through June 13.
Founded in 2010 in Austin, Deep Eddy Vodka was acquired by Heaven Hill in 2015 and has since grown into a nearly 1.8 million nine-liter case brand. The company continues to expand its flavored vodka lineup, including the recent launch of Deep Eddy Espresso, which sold out shortly after release.
