‘Call Her Daddy’ Host Alex Cooper Gears Up For Vodka Launch — Here’s What We Know

Trademark filings suggest “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper appears to have a vodka brand on the way.

Following weeks of cryptic posts on social media, the podcast superstar debuted Unwell Hydration at the end of last week. The pastel-hued beverage line is described as a lightly caffeinated, electrolyte drink that will soon be made available in Strawberry, Orange Hibiscus and Mango Citrus flavors.

By the time the announcement came around, however, fans had already taken matters into their own hands. Impatient online sleuths did some digging to find out what Cooper may have in store, quickly discovering that Unwell Hydration was not the only project gearing up for a launch.

Cooper’s company, TRNDG IP LLC, filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office last month for a product called “Popular Vodka by Unwell.” The filing extends to alcoholic beverages except beer, including distilled spirits, liqueurs, liquors and vodka cocktails. A logo for the brand depicts the word “Popular” styled in cursive underneath three stars of varying size.

Were Cooper to launch a vodka brand, she’d join the likes of Kylie and Kendall Jenner in the lucrative influencer-backed alcohol category. Kendall Jenner’s 818 — though occasionally subject to controversy — is one of the biggest tequila brands on the market, while Kylie’s Sprinter Vodka Soda has already raked in blockbuster sales in the months since its launch.

Other ventures hit a little closer to home. Cooper famously inked a $125 million deal in 2020 that saw her part way with Barstool Sports, a media company that’s spawned an entire liquor store’s worth of successful alcohol products.

The most famous of the bunch is Pink Whitney, a pink lemonade-flavored vodka backed by ex-NHL players Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonette of the “Spittin’ Chiclets” podcast. Barstool’s name can also be found on Pirate Water, a line of 10% ABV ready-to-drink malt beverages produced by the makers of Four Loko. The most recent foray, though not officially backed by Barstool, comes from “Sundae Conversations” alum Caleb Pressley, who announced a peanut butter-flavored agave spirit in March of last year.

Whatever plans Cooper may have, her fans won’t have to wait long for the next big thing. Unwell Hydration is described as “your new best friend… with benefits,” containing over 700mg of electrolytes, a blend of B-complex vitamins and green coffee extract inside each bottle.

“Women are often expected to juggle multiple roles and be everything to everyone, which is why I wanted to create a hydration drink that helps replenish what we give out,” Cooper remarked in a press release. “Hydration, however, is a universal need, and that’s what truly matters — a drink that supports wellness for everyone, regardless of who you are.”

Unwell Hydration is slated to go on sale at Target stores nationwide beginning January 1, 2025, for a suggested retail price of $2.49 per bottle.
