Limestone Branch Distillery's 2023 Yellowstone Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a blend of 7-, 13- and 16-year-old bourbons finished in Tokaji casks from Hungary. Master distiller Steve Beam, a seventh-generation distiller from the Beam and Dant families, selected the bourbons for this release. Bottled at 101 proof it hosts a suggested retail price of $99.99.
2023 Yellowstone Limited Edition is nothing short of a treat for the senses. The experience starts off with a buttery apple fritter nose that’ll have you begging for a sip. The palate and finish are packed full of deep rich notes of Tiramisu, baking spice, and cherries.
The finish has a sharpness to it, focused on cherries and oak, perhaps the most traditional part of the experience, evoking the peppery barrel char of a classically structured bourbon. Fun stuff, and enough off the beaten path to merit seeking out. C
Underpinning the fruity flavors is a bouquet of sweet herbs and dark chocolate. The finish ties the whiskey together, balancing restrained fruit sweetness with more dark chocolate and pronounced toasted oak.
