Yacht Water is the first alcohol launch from rapper and podcaster Lil Yachty. Each cocktail is made with Pedro Furtivo Reposado tequila (aged six months), fresh key lime juice, sparkling water and sea salt. Based on the name and ingredients, this is clearly intended as a twist on the Texas-favorite Ranch Water recipe.

  • The exact essence of a lime-and-salt tequila shot. A lot saltier than I was expecting, but it works nicely. The lime flavor is subtle and tastes fresh enough, though I can't say the aged aspect of the tequila comes through all that clear.

  • Nose:

Lots of fresh lemon and lime backed by a briny, saline bite. Resembles an amped up LaCroix.

  • Taste:

The exact essence of a lime-and-salt tequila shot. A lot saltier than I was expecting, but it works nicely. The lime flavor is subtle and tastes fresh enough, though I can't say the aged aspect of the tequila comes through all that clear.

  • Finish:

Nice hit of citrus pulp on the backend, almost like chewing a lime slice whole.

  • Overall:

This is a quality, straight-to-the-point ranch water with marginal bells and whistles. The aged tequila adds a hint of depth, while the sea salt provides that much needed Topo Chico-like minerality. Solid stuff.
