Distilled from 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, the distillation of a large portion of this release directly followed 2019's Master Collection distillation featuring chocolate malt. After aging for several years, Chris Morris and his team liked the results enough to make it a flavoring component for the Chocolate Malt Whisper release, named after the flavor characteristics the chocolate malt give the release.

  • This is unique and so fascinating but many drinkers will find it polarizing. The name 'Chocolate Whisper' is completely based in its suggestion this tastes heavily like chocolate, although the whisper may be heard, or rather tasted, as a shout to many.

  • Nose:

Malty, chocolatey, plenty of honey, sourdough, cocoa, ginger ale, bold cream. Sweet and dessert forward on the nose, certainly plenty of cocoa - it's not hiding to say the least.

  • Taste:

Malty, rich and chocolate forward. Sesame bread, cocoa, bitter chocolate, tobacco. It's not as rich as it could be, but given the proof, it's drinking just fine. Plenty of cocoa character here, it's not thin or meek, but you better love cocoa.

  • Finish:

Long finish, malty, sweet, chocolatey and bitter. The bitterness here helps sort out the sweetness on the nose and palate although it's a bit unexpected. It helps reign in the sweetness of the malt, and makes for quite a wild ride.

  • Overall:

This is unique and so fascinating but many drinkers will find it polarizing. The name 'Chocolate Whisper' is completely based in its suggestion this tastes heavily like chocolate, although the whisper may be heard, or rather tasted, as a shout to many.
