  • It's a very good rye, and it's good to see a widely available limited-edition release, but the price tag is a bit rich compared to other rye whiskeys of similar quality.

  • Nose:

Oaky and sharp with cocoa, cola, molasses, custard, cinnamon, clove and raisin hiding beneath the woodiness.

  • Taste:

Moderate viscosity with some heat. There's a big chocolate-covered cherry note here, as well as clove, cinnamon, peppercorns, a solid dose of oak, Tootsie Roll, a bit of butterscotch, smoked orange peel and a touch of charred mango.

  • Finish:

The finish is medium in length with wood smoke, a bit of tannin, candied ginger, almonds, cocoa, barrel char, a touch of coconut and some woodiness.

  • Overall:

A full and pleasing rye whiskey that balances spice with cocoa, woodiness and some dried and charred fruity notes. It's a very good rye, and it's good to see a widely available limited-edition release, but the price tag is a bit rich compared to other rye whiskeys of similar quality.
