Bold brown sugar, baking spice, honey, toffee and some hefty baking spice. Rich on the nose, plenty of flavor and character, not too much ethanol.
Rich on the palate, oaky and dry, with tons of raisin bread, toffee, honey, anise, baking spice and clove. Impressively pungent, delectable, very spice-drop-y
Long finish, rich but a bit hot. That said, still full of flavor, decadent, rich and desirable. Honey, buttercream, spice drops, nougat and a bold cocoa and clove note to see it out.
Another killer release from SCN shows the appeal of cask strength, single barrel releases, but their performance also shows just how close to a great RRSIB these can be. It’s an awesome whiskey with big flavors and just enough oak despite the heat.
