  • From what I've seen, they are focused on making good things available for a reasonable price and I don't mean that in a bad way. Sometimes it is simply better to keep things straight forward instead of trying to be the next big thing.

  • The palate opens with rich helping of bread crust and caramel and ends with a strong ginger note, coating evenly from front to back. Good choice in a Manhattan.

  • My suggestion is the next time you need another rye to stock your bar, pick up a bottle of Wheel Horse Rye. You really can’t go wrong with rye at this price, especially when it’s this tasty!

  • Impressed once again. I don’t love this as much the bourbon, but it’s starting in a great place.

  • Nose:

Honey, citrus zest, some clove. Orange peel.

  • Taste:

A little young. Lots of sweet cream, caramel, a hint of pepper. Not super complex.

  • Finish:

Short and a bit hot on the finish. No signs of youth or must Tons of promise here.

  • Overall:

Impressed once again. I don’t love this as much the bourbon, but it’s starting in a great place.

  • Score:
