Produced with a 95% rye mashbill, this little number comes to us from OZ Tyler in conjunction with Latitude Beverage. A blend of 2 and 3 year rye, this is bottled at 50.5% ABV with no filtering. Let's dive in.
From what I've seen, they are focused on making good things available for a reasonable price and I don't mean that in a bad way. Sometimes it is simply better to keep things straight forward instead of trying to be the next big thing.
The palate opens with rich helping of bread crust and caramel and ends with a strong ginger note, coating evenly from front to back. Good choice in a Manhattan.
My suggestion is the next time you need another rye to stock your bar, pick up a bottle of Wheel Horse Rye. You really can’t go wrong with rye at this price, especially when it’s this tasty!
