This 4- to 5-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon is finished for 6 to 8 months in a combination of port, cognac, sherry and armagnac casks. Bottled at 101 proof and non-chill filtered, it features a mashbill of 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley.
If you relish Green River bourbon and would like to experience it with finishing casks, Wheel Horse Cigar Blend is a good opportunity at an affordable price.
While not the most amazing of these cigar blends I’ve tried to date, Wheel Horse Cigar Blend Bourbon is an excellent offering. The flavor profile is suitable for being paired with a good cigar. Just a touch more age would benefit this greatly.
Utilizing a blend of three finishing barrels, Wheel Horse Bourbon Cigar Blend evokes fewer feelings of pairing well with a cigar and more so focuses on its mixed berry and red fruit underpinnings.
