  • It’s a rollercoaster of flavor, unlike anything I’ve encountered in American single malt. And a fitting celebration of two impressive decades of whiskey-making at Westward.

  • The second release of Westward Milestone shows Munroe and his team can keep pushing their flavor boundaries while staying a cut above the majority of American single malts. It’s a high bar I hope they can continue clearing.

  • Nose:

Funky, rich, decadent and dessert-forward nose. Unreal complexity, loaded with cinnamon, sugar, tobacco, toffee, sweet malt and cereal, a touch of pepper and ginger and a dash more maple.

  • Taste:

Moderate palate, proofed nicely. A touch of pepper and a dash of malt, loaded with maple, cinnamon, sugar, tobacco, a big hit of Cinnabon, ginger and more sweetness. Lovely.

  • Finish:

Long finish with loads of cinnamon, sugar, Cinnabon, brown butter and toffee, sweet cream and lovely oak, malt, some amburana spice and candied ginger.

  • Overall:

Really wild release. It’s opulent and decadent and dreamy start to finish. Well done, Westward crew.
