  • The whiskey is delicious and perfectly peated, and there’s nothing I’d rather sip on over an open campfire under a starry summer night sky

  • This is lovely. It's the most "scotch-ish" peated expression from the U.S. that I've had, and that's a compliment from top to bottom.

  • Nose:

Sweet caramel on the nose, fresh popped popcorn, honey, a touch of char, melon and beef jerky — teriyaki, to be precise.

  • Taste:

The palate is sweet and full of caramel, cream, pepper, ash, clove and hefty peat. Reminiscent of Laphroaig-style peat. Char-driven and luscious.

  • Finish:

Long, all char, caramel, cocoa, espresso and ash.

  • Overall:

This is lovely. It's the most "scotch-ish" peated expression from the U.S. that I've had, and that's a compliment from top to bottom. Lovely and worth checking out if previous American whiskey releases have left your peat itches unscratched.

  • Score:

    88
