Wemyss Malts Peat Chimney 12 Year Old is a blended malt Scotch whisky made by independent bottler Wemyss Malts in Edinburgh. It is a vatting of 16 different whiskies with a 12 year old Islay malt. The whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and typically sells for around $50-60.
The peat is easygoing and understated, a lightly smoky but also sweet blend that recalls barbecue smoke. Not much else to find inside… hints of honey and cherry notes, and ample wood (burning or otherwise).
